An add-on to Micro Focus Cobol that allows SQL statements to be included
directly in Cobol code. Lets programmers place embedded SQL statements into
Cobol source code that access Microsoft's SQL Server. (Embedded SQL
statements are standard SQL statements, bracketed by the keywords EXEC SQL
and END-EXEC.) This product is completely integrated with the Micro Focus
Cobol compiler. Directives instruct the compiler to pass all SQL statements
to the pre-compiler services libraries; this means that a separate
pre-process step is not required. It also means that when Animator is used
to debug a program, the original EXEC SQL statements are seen, and not the
expanded calls to the runtime services. Requires Windows 95 or Windows NT
3.51 or later; Microsoft SQL Server 4.2 or later for NT installed locally
or on a network server; Microsoft SQL Server client utilities for Windows
NT or Windows 95; and network software supported by Microsoft SQL Server.
