Provides tools that capture and present images, sound, graphics, and video
for developing client/server multimedia applications. The tools represent
the user's multimedia information in the MediaDB database, populate the
database, and query the information. The Schema Designer defines custom
data types such as MediaClip, InventoryItem, or Employee, with an unlimited
number of fields. The Browser lets users organize multimedia information in
hierarchical folders, and drag-and-drop facilities set up links and
associations. MediaSQL lets users query and navigate through the database.
The Application Development Kit also contains tools for managing,
capturing, and displaying images, graphics, sound, and video within an
application. These tools encapsulate multimedia information as simple
objects or controls, thereby hiding complexities normally associated with
