A tool that builds EIS-style applications for managers and decision makers
that dynamically access mainframe data through a graphical desktop front
end. Uses Windows to present information in a graphical display. Combines
data from Nomad and Nomad-accessible data sources, text, numbers, graphics,
and images on the same screen. Uses a variety of hot spots to provide
drill-down to more detail, color to flag exceptions, and graphs to display
trends and ratios. In client/server mode, the user gains access, from any
PC workstation running Windows, to various proprietary IBM, Digital, and
LAN databases such as DB2, VSAM, CA-IDMS, SQL/DS, Rdb, RMS, and SQL Server.
Provides support for DDE and DLL. Users have the power of Nomad's database
descriptions and reporting facilities, as well as the use of procedures to
automate data selection and analysis. The user interface is based on
Lightship from Pilot Software. Mainframe server and five workstations:
