Remote data-access software for use between user applications and Oracle
databases (client/server), or among multiple databases (server/server).
Applications and databases can be distributed physically to different
machines and continue to communicate as if they were local. Based on the
Transparent Network Substrate, a foundation network technology that
provides a generic interface to all popular network protocols for
connectivity throughout a network of applications. Uses a companion product
(the MultiProtocol Interchange) to connect disparate networks. Provides
detailed error logging and user-controllable tracing. Supports features
found in Oracle7, including the multithreaded server option and distributed
updates. Can also be used with Oracle's SQL*Connect to allow remote data
access to other databases, including DB2, SQL/DS, RMS, and Tandem NonStop
SQL.ÊÎÌÏÀÍÈÈ
