the utilization of the Entity Relationship Model as a means of data
storage. Allows developers to design a database with direct, real

hierarchical, network and relational storage concepts and incorporates
an active data dictionary. Utilizes a database engine that provides
control over modeling rules, data range limits and data integrity.
Can detect invalid data values and relationships between database
objects before data is passed to the repository. Provides relational
views into the database for SQL programmers. Includes transaction
level COMMIT and ABORT commands. Adds transaction synchronization,
check-point restart and transaction journaling to protect data
