Features a client/server architecture optimized for multimedia storage, retrieval, and concurrent usage. The object-oriented database engine supports management of extremely large pieces of information. Objects are accessible through programming languages such as C, C++, and VisualBasic, as well as client/server development tools such as PowerBuilder. In addition to its object-oriented programming interface, it supports data access through SQL. The ODBC driver lets users create applications with a standard programming interface and provides access to data through any ODBC-compliant front-end tool.
