    SQL database engine for decision support applications. Supports small
    MIS organizations and light transaction processing environments.- 
    An SQL-based multi-user RDBMS for small to mid-range application
    environments. Provides data consistency, client/server capabilities
    and standards adherence. The cost-based optimizer determines the most
    efficient way for the database server process to access each table.
    It considers all possible query plans and compiles an estimate of the
    number of records to be examined and number of disk pages to be
    accessed for each plan. After evaluating these plans, the optimizer
    assigns a cost for each alternative and chooses the least costly plan
    to perform the data access. It can also be instructed to return
    information about the chosen query plan the the application
    development tool prior to executing the data access. Provides a
    variety of indexing options which can include from one to eight
    fields. Each field can be a different datatype. Supports different
    B+ tree indexing options that include unique and clustered indexes.
    Data consistency is provided via audit trails and transaction logging
    and by establishing and enforcing locking procedures, isolation levels
    and business rules. Includes referential integrity and entity
    integrity, stored procedures and utilities to allow users to migrate
    data in ASCII format to another Informix-OnLine database.= 476 KB
