Plug-in modules that customize the Illustra object-relational DBMS to
store, manage, and query 2D and 3D spatial data, such as points, lines,
polygons, and other spatial and location data. The 2D Spatial DataBlade
comes with more than 200 functions to allow manipulation and querying of 2D
spatial data. A unique access method, R-trees, provides maximum
performance. The 3D Spatial DataBlade includes more than 1000 functions to
allow manipulation and querying of spatial data. It also uses the R-tree
access method. Illustra's DataBlade modules can be combined to support any
combination of multimedia and complex data. The Illustra ORDBMS runs on
SunOS, Solaris/SPARC, Silicon Graphics, Windows NT, and HP-UX. Pricing for
