complexity. Supports object inheritance. Designed for multi-user
applications where concurrency and a high level of data protection are
required. Provides DML, DDL and query language. Interactively
executes OPAL statements. Manages two billion data objects. Any
collection of objects can contain one billion elements. Provides
indexing algorithm. Offers implemented clustering. Provides database
security and authorization. Features read/write control and
authorization at user, group and world levels. Automatically
maintains six disk replicates. Monitors concurrent access to prevent
data corruption. Allows servers to communicate with client
applications running in a distributed processing environment on the
IBM PC, Mac II, Sun and Tektronix workstations and in a stand-alone
work configuration. Allows users to access databases through
applications written in Smalltalk, C, Fortran, Pascal, Ada, C++ or
Objective C. Provides facilities for bulk import/export of data
between databases and the outside world. Extracts and utilizes data
