LAN-based DBMS and application development system with client/server
architecture. Compatible with mainframe CA-DATACOM product line.
Provides shared, integrated dictionary and database on centralized
database server for development and downsizing of CA-DATACOM
applications. Includes interactive and embedded SQL facilities, data
and data definition transport facilities and CA-IDEAL/PC and CA-Realia
    COBOL application development environments.Îïèñàíèå-Ò
A LAN based database management and application development system.
    Using a Client/Server architecture, the system provides a multi-user
environment with a shared dictionary and database on a central
database server. Includes a database management system, an active
integrated data dictionary, interactive and embedded SQL facilities,
data and data dictionary transport facilities, and support utilities.
Also includes the CA-IDEAL/PC and CA-Realia COBOL application
development environments. Provides call-level support for
record-at-a-time and set-at-a-time access in COBOL and C programs,
with same syntax and return codes as on the mainframe. Features SQL
support for database access interactively and from COBOL programs,
with same syntax and return codes as on the mainframe. Provides a
shared multi-user environment for both data dictionary and user
database access, including concurrent updating and record level
locking. Full client/server architecture allows for the centralization
of shared resources and reduction of network traffic. Includes
security facilities for verification of authorization to access the
server, other product components and data. The ANSI SQL Grant and
Revoke commands are included. Improves productivity by using the PC as
a development and maintenance workstation for CA-DATACOM applications.
Features data validation and referential integrity definition and
execution capabilities, a facility for transporting DataDictionary
definitions to and from the mainframe and other PCs and LANs,
interactive SQL facilities, and facilities for data transfer between
    different platforms and formats.ÒÅÐÌÈÍÛ
