Provides database management tools and improvements, including macro
functions, scrolling database layouts and alternative views, multiple
field linking, file lookups, a selection of data validation criteria,
Clipboard copy-and-paste functions, extended search criteria, and
layout partitioning for advanced data display and printing. Menu
options are arrayed across the bottom of the screen, and the program
is organized on a single basic Browse screen, which interacts with
nine menu screen options. Compatible with comma-delimited ASCII,
.DBF, .DIF and mail-merge formats. Starting a database is accomplished
by typing a filename on the opening screen, selecting Define from the
menu, and entering a list of field names to be specified. Offers data
types, including summary and time field definitions, and numeric
fields allow the mixing of text and numbers while retaining the
capability to perform calculations and summaries on the mixed fields.
Number fields hold up to 100 digits. Field sizes can be specified and
formatted in the definition or shaped and altered on the fly on the
layout screen. Summary fields are reserved for totals, averages and
counts on field values for all records in a database file, while
calculation fields automatically record the results of formulas based
on selected record fields in the database. Formulas are limited to a
